Insecticide with Predominantly Stomach Action and Limited Contact Activity

Mode of Action:

Thiodicarb inhibits the enzyme cholinesterase in the synaptic region of the insect central nervous system, causing disruption of the nervous system and ultimately leading to insect death.


Application Management:

  • Thiodicarb also has slug control activity, causing paralysis and death in slugs.

  • It can be used for seed treatment, in which case it is absorbed systemically and quickly translocated within the plant.

  • Effective against larvae of Lepidoptera, beetles, and flies on various crops.


Target Pests and Application Rates:

Crop Pest Rate & Method
Cotton Bollworm 1 kg/ha, foliar spray
Cotton Thrips Seed treatment: 5‰ (5 g per liter)
Pistachio Wood-boring moth 1.5‰ (1.5 L per 1000 L water), foliar spray

Pre-harvest Interval (PHI): 21 days


Compatibility and Mixing:

  • Do not mix Thiodicarb with acidic or alkaline compounds, heavy metal oxides, or fungicides containing Maneb or Mancozeb (except WP formulations) or Bordeaux mixture.

  • Not compatible with vegetable oils.
