Mode of Action:
Non-systemic insecticide with contact, stomach, and respiratory activity.
- Diazinon inhibits cholinesterase in insects, causing disruption of the nervous system.
- Primarily contact action, with limited penetration through the leaf surface, but it does not move systemically inside the plant.
- Minor fumigant properties.
- Acts as a repellent to birds.
Application Management:
- Effective against a wide range of chewing, stem-boring, and root-feeding insects on crops including deciduous trees, citrus, grape, olive, banana, corn, sorghum, alfalfa, cotton, rice, sugarcane, sunflower, soybean, beet, pistachio, date, bean, tea, cereals, vegetables, and ornamental and forest plants.
- Can be used as a seed treatment against soil-borne insects and larvae.

Compatibility and Mixing:
- Diazinon is generally compatible with most insecticides.
- Do not mix with copper compounds or alkaline formulations.
- Sensitive to oxidation; gradually decomposes in acidic solutions but is relatively stable in alkaline solutions.
- Corrosive to metals.
- May cause leaf burn or rust on some apple varieties.
